I split time between Tampa area of Florida (home) and Houston area of Texas (work). I started shooting IDPA about three years ago in Texas as a way to pass the time as they were holding matches weekly at a local indoor range. That eventually grew into shooting USPSA and a couple of two gun matches. I have been a Glock shooter purely by accident. They had a lot of available after market parts and seemed pretty simple to make modifications without being a rocket surgeon. My schedule this coming year is going to allow me to spend more time in Florida so I just picked up a TP9SFx after looking at options. Took it to the range last night for the first time and after adjusting my grip to not ride the slide release got comfortable with the gun. Pretty accurate even with my considerable issues with grip, trigger pushing, etc.
I looked up this forum for info on the options for front sights as my eyes are not picking up the fiber front sight very well. I was surprised and pleased to see the amount of feedback and support you all have created on this site. I look forward to playing with the new toy and finding some local Tampa area competition opportunities.
I will say that I am going to have to work on my Glock triggers now that I have shot this Canik which is better (competition wise) right out of the box. Not to irritate any Glock fans (I am still one as well), just saying that the TP9SFx as you all know is built for competition and the Glock is sold as general purpose.
Also saw a post on competition shirts and would be interested in those as well.
Because of my own mechanic issues of grip, etc., I could not tell if the SFX fiber is a 6 o'clock hold or 12 o'clock hold. Does anyone happen to know? I did try search for this answer on the forum, but haven't come across it yet. Thanks
